The openCode software directory makes projects publicly visible and searchable. This allows other users of the platform to use your software.

Requirements

If you would like to have your software project listed in the software directory, your project must meet the following requirements:

Please note that your software will only appear in the software directory if you have added an error-free publiccode.yml file to the project.

Steps for adding an entry to the software directory

If you have met the requirements, follow these steps from creating a publiccode.yml file to successfully adding your software to the openCode software directory:

  1. Create a LICENSE file with the license that best suits your software.
  2. Create a publiccode.yml file.
  3. If necessary: Refine your software's entry in the software directory

What is publiccode.yml?

publiccode.yml is a metadata standard file used to describe open source projects for the public sector.

On openCode, all entries in the software directory are automatically imported from the respective publiccode.yml files of the projects on the GitLab instance.
